Swensee Code of Conduct

Preamble

The Swensee community will be the reflection of its members’ ambition, ethics and behaviour. Members are committed to subscribe to the set of values and ideal as described below.

This code of conduct comes as an annex to the Terms of Use.

Loyalty, ethics, integrity and honesty

Members should loyally serve the community and strive to be of service to other members.

Members shall at all time conduct themselves with integrity and honesty in such a way as to bring credit to the whole community. Members shall not disseminate any false, misleading or illegal information, either on their own behalf, or on behalf of anyone else.

Members shall be aware of how their conduct may influence others. They shall not demand, encourage, coerce or adopt any behaviour which leads to unethical conduct.

Members shall seek to avoid conflicts of interest and place the interests of the community above those of personal interests.

Attitude toward others

Members should make their best efforts to be of help to other members, answering their contact requests.

Members are required to treat each other with mutual respect, use a gentleman’s language, and avoid personal attacks, slurs, and profanity in your interactions.

Concerning communication manners, members can refer to the Netiquette Guidelines (RFC 1855).

As a matter of principle, exchanges of information between members are free. Nevertheless, contacts with professional advisers might lead to payment, which should be expressly mentioned in advance to the requesting member.

Free access should not lead to abuse and harassment of members.

To save others’ time, requests should be written in precise and concise manner. Members should answer promptly to messages even if they don’t have an adequate answer to the request they received.

Community members should avoid posting any kind of information that could be viewed as “spam”.
